Here is a list of software I use. <strong>'d items are recommended for anyone to check out.
- ClipX
- ClipX is a clipboard manager for Windows. In short, it keeps a history of your clipboard, which is immensely useful at times.
- ZScreen
- Although very bulky, ZScreen lets you upload screenshots, images, and files, minify URL's, and paste text with one keyboard combination. (I wish there was a light-weight equivalent.) Note: I am currently writing a replacement for ZScreen.
- uTorrent
- Magical torrent client.
- Listary
- grep for everything (except the filesystem). Also has a pseudoshell for Explorer (invoked with /). Trying this out; I'm sure I'll keep it.
- Everything
- Fast grep for your filesystem.
- Launchy
- Handy application launcher and calculator.
- AllChars
- Emulates the compose key for keyboards without one. Also allows for simple find-and-replace keyboard macros (invoked with /). Seems to have some problems with some games, however.
- CCleaner
- Wipes your computer clean of a lot of the crud which accumulates over time. Also scans for registry problems and is an alternative for the Windows program list to uninstall programs.
- WhatPulse
- Keeps track of the number of times I've clicked and pressed a key and how far my mouse has traveled. Cool to watch.
- ManicTime
- Monitors program usage and provides a full history of what I've been doing. Basically a ceiling cat.
- ONAIR
- Sends Spider's now-playing information to Skype.
- Spider Player
- A small audio player. Sadly, it doesn't seem to be multithreaded...
- RivaTuner
- Forces the refresh rate to the maximum where possible. I use a CRT and 60Hz is just painful.
- Win2VNC
- A VNC client which allows me to treat my laptop as a secondary monitor.
- MyDefrag
- Disk defragger for the leet.
- ImgBurn
- CD image burning software. Clean, simple, and compact.
- MagicDisc
- Virtual CD drives, similar to DaemonTools but without the evil.
- GPUTool
- Nice and simple video card overclocking utility.
- Skype
- Opera
- Steam
